Versatility in Tracking Solutions

Tracking solutions have become very common and are now accepted as necessary to secure shipments in transit. IOT in the supply chain grew 15% to $269 Billion in 2023.  As investment continues to grow in this market, customers are becoming more aware of the complexities in deploying IOT at scale.   Tracking a shipment from point A to point B is no longer enough.  In order to maximize your return on investment, it is vital for your tracking solution to work for you after a shipment is complete.

How does a tracking device work for you after a shipment is complete?  By giving you every opportunity to recover and reuse the device.  Our system seamlessly will transition a completed shipment to an asset.  Once the device is an asset, the system will track the device and provide updates on battery status and potential recovery options.  Over time, users can check different locations to determine inventory levels and determine the device throughput at each location.

Anytime we build a device, we add layers of technology to ensure we can go above and beyond in different applications.  For example, the SENTRY 600 works as a standalone GPS tracking device. However, it also can be used as an inventory scanner to determine how many other SENTRYs are within several hundred meters.  The count is captured in our platform and custom alerting can be added to alert the appropriate personnel if a number is greater than a certain quantity.  This feature provides an additional redundancy in inventory management and has assisted in the recovery of many assets.

The use of the term “assets” above instead of SENTRY is intentional.  We have deployed unique applications where SENTRY is leveraged in remote locations to collect volume count of other high value instruments.

Another key feature we built into SENTRY is our low battery mode.  As the device battery reaches a certain threshold, SENTRY can transition to low battery mode.  Once the battery is depleted, other SENTRYs will still be able to read those units for an extended duration.  Again, the sole purpose of this is to provide the users as much time as possible to ensure device recovery.

Single use cellular devices come with less capabilities, cause serious harm to our environment, and could impact your organization’s sustainability goals.  According to the United Nations, more than 50 million tons of electronic waste was discarded in 2019, harming water supplies and soil quality.  We hope supply chain leaders begin to be mindful of this in order to implement holistic approaches to sustainability for the future.

We believe we have built the foundation to not only deliver visibility in your supply chain but also ensure a long-term sustainable solution.  We are always eager to work with open minded partners to add features to assist in your achieving your ESG goals.  We hope to hear from you on additional feature sets or how your IOT devices are helping you meet ESG goals!
